Asian Pigeonwings are also known as Butterfly Pea, Darwin Pea and Blue Pea. It is native to South India and South East Asia. It is also known as Aparajita in Hindi,Gokarna and Shankha Pushpa in Marathi, Karnika in Sanskrit.
It is a perennial creeper and grows well in moist soil. It is usually kept as an ornamental plant. It’s blue color with light yellow markings are the striking feature.It can be grown in flower pots.
There are 3 varieties of color – Blue, Purple and White. We have blue and white colored pea growing in the flower pots.
It is known to enhance memory and is also used in Ayurvedic medicines.
